Interested in donating to our Scholarship and Awards program?

With generous financial support from local businesses, service clubs, community organizations, and individuals, Cumberland College awarded just over $107 000 in Entrance Scholarships and General Awards to 81 deserving students attending our campus in the 2021-22 academic year!  These awards provide much-needed and greatly appreciated financial assistance to students as they pursue their post-secondary education.

Students, businesses, and industry alike benefit when training opportunities are offered in our region.  Students save money by being able to continue living either close to home or in many cases, right in their home community.  Local business and industry benefits by having ready access to a pool of potential employees with the skills and training tailored to meet the needs specific to our area economy.

The implications of the Covid-19 Global Pandemic did not leave our students untouched. Many of our adult students not only had to adapt to complete their courses online but had to balance homeschooling their own children at the same time! Once programs wrapped up, summer jobs were very scarce for all students so finances were stretched to the limit. This year, more than ever, our students could use the financial boost scholarships and awards provide.

You can support post-secondary students studying right here in the northeast region by donating to the Cumberland College Scholarship and Awards program! We graciously accept donations of any amount so you decide what works best for you. Donations can be a single one-time contribution, an annual contribution, or an ongoing multi-year commitment. 

As a donor, you receive many benefits including:

• superior value for your money. Donations of $1000 towards an Entrance Scholarship will be matched by the Ministry of Advanced Education, doubling the impact! (A $1000 donation becomes a $2000 scholarship!)
• a charitable tax receipt
• recognition on the Cumberland College website, in our social media posts, and in a variety of our print materials
• the option to include a direct link from our website to your business website
• donors contributing $500 and above will be honoured with an award created in their name
• All donors will receive an invitation to participate in our annual Awards ceremony to be held in March. 
• peace of mind and assurance that your donation stays local
• a sense of fulfillment from knowing that you assisted a student with their educational goals!
