GED® Testing

GED Testing Service Announcement

Dear GED Student,

The Canadian GED Series exam will be ending on May 3, 2024, for paper and computer testing. This means any progress made by you toward your GED High School Equivalency certification must be completed by May 3 otherwise you will not be able to finish.  After this date tests will no longer be scored by GED Testing Service and you would be at risk of losing any and all progress made toward your certification up to this point.  It is highly recommended that you make every effort to finish any remaining subject test to complete your GED (High School Equivalency certification). This was a difficult decision, and we want to encourage all testers to finish what they started for the best result given the situation. This impacts Canadian testers only!

If you have any questions regarding the closeout of the Canadian GED test, please contact the GED Administrator for your province. You can find their contact information by clicking the button below, selecting your province, clicking on "View Province Rules", selecting the category "Other" and then clicking the last question "Who is the GED Administrator?"

Understanding the GED

Many adults who did not complete high school acquire through experience, reading, and other informal learning, educational maturity equal to or above the level of a high school graduate. The GED® testing program offered through Cumberland College is designed to determine that level.

Requirements:

The GED exams consist of five tests.  The times below are the scheduled times allowed by GED Testing Services that includes tutorials and scheduled breaks.

The questions in each of these exams require you to use general knowledge and thinking skills. The exams consist of multiple choice questions and one essay.
