Adult 12

Adult 12

The Adult 12 program is an academic Grade 12 program offering students a Ministry of Education Grade 12. Students in the program have the opportunity to obtain their academic grade 12, add classes they did not take in high school, or upgrade their marks for entrance into competitive entry post-secondary programs.

Students write Ministry of Education Departmental exams in 30 Level English, Math and Science.

If you are 18+ and have been out of school for at least a year, you are eligible to obtain an Adult 12. An adult may attain a Grade 12 standing by successfully completing 7 credit classes.  Compulsory courses for Adult 12 (secondary completion) are:

  • English Language Arts A 30 and English Language Arts B 30;
  • One Canadian Studies course (History 30, Native Studies 30, or Social Studies 30)
  • One level 20 or level 30 mathematics;
  • One level 20 or level 30 science;
  • Two electives at level 30 (one may be Prior Learning 30).

Our Adult 12 programs offer ELA A30, ELA B30, Social Studies 30: Canadian Studies, Workplace & Apprenticeship Math 20 & 30, Foundations of Math 20 & 30, Health Sciences 20, Physical Science 20, Biology 30 and Chemistry 30, as well as Practical & Applied Art electives potentially including: Information Processing 30, Mental Wellness 30, Financial Literacy 30, and Life Transitions 30.

Adult 12 programs run on a 4 Block system, which may differ from the K-12 semester/block timelines.

Block One: August , 2023 - October , 2023

Block Two: October , 2023 - December , 2023

Block Three:  January , 2024 - March , 2024

Block Four:  March , 2024 - May , 2024

Home internet access is required.  Interested learners should apply.  Information will be provided on testing and interview dates after application is received.

ONLINE - Adult 12

The Adult 12 program is provided with credit from the Province of Saskatchewan through the Ministry of Immigration and Career Training. Cumberland College submits official records and transcripts of all Adult 12 students to Ministry of Immigration and Career Training.

NOTE:  This course is a dedicated online course only.  You will not be able to transter from Online to Face-to-Face programs once the program has started.
