Adult Education

Adult Education is an umbrella term that refers to a wide range of services. Credit and non-credit programs are designed to help adult learners achieve their goals. 


These goals may include:

Adult Education Program Information:

  1. Programs are running primarily online with some face-to-face support but limited on-campus requirements
  2. On-campus and online instructor support and online tutor support available for all classes
  3. Seats maybe available in all programs in January
  4. Opportunity to enter for a single class and be complete in approximately 6 weeks for High School completion and upgrading.
  5. With the 4 Block system (2 classes for 9 to 10 weeks), new Adult 12 classes will run:
    • Block 1 – August 21 to October 13, 2023
    • Block 2 – October 17 to December 15, 2023
    • Block 3 – January 8 to March 13, 2024
    • Block 4 – March 18 to May 24, 2024
  6. New Regional Pre-Adult10, program will start in January in Nipawin

Programs:

Adult Literacy

- partime program which offers 9 hours per week of instruction, face-to-face, in Nipawin.  The program focuses on entry level skill building.

Regional Pre-Adult 10

- programming to build up skills and confidence in math, communications and digital literacy.

Adult 10

– A five credit program offered by the Ministry of Immigration & Career Training intended to prepare you for further education or entry into programs requiring a Grade 10.

Classes include:

The Nipawin program also offers a 2 - 30 Level Electives,  which reduces your Adult 12 requirements to only another 6 credits.

Adult 12

– An Adult 12 is a 7 credit program that uses Ministry of Education 20 and 30 level classes to provide you with the academic credits necessary to graduate and continue on to post-secondary programming with Sask Polytech or university.

There are 5 compulsory credits:

On line classes from any location include:

At this time, programs are being offered throughout the region in Melfort, Nipawin, Tisdale, James Smith Cree Nation. 

How to Apply: Applications are accepted at any time.  Students are sent a letter of invitation to attend the on going testing and interviews that are scheduled for monthly in Nipawin and alternate months for Melfort and Tisdale.
