Overview:

At Cumberland College you have the opportunity to study in the comfort of your home community while persuing a degree. Below are some areas of studies that you can take: 

The Faculty of Arts offers over twenty areas of study in the social sciences and humanities. Pursuing an Arts degree, or ensuring your chosen degree has a strong Arts component, can help you make informed decisions about critical issues that can affect you - issues like politics, poverty, women’s rights, international development, ethics and morality.  Courses in the social sciences and humanities also develop your leadership skills by helping you to stay curious, challenge the status quo and learn to think outside the box.

The Faculty of Science offers a wide range of programs that are designed to prepare students for careers in almost any field. Special programs have also been developed in collaboration with other faculties at the University of Regina and with the Saskatchewan Polytechnic to build capacity and provide new opportunities for our students and the residents of Saskatchewan, Canada and abroad.

You can complete a full first year (30 credit units) of an Arts or Science degree at Cumberland College.  To complete your degree you must move to the University of Regina or the University of Saskatchewan.  Please see a College Advisor for academic advising to chose the correct courses for you. 

The faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies offers a direct entry four year Bachelor of Kinesiology degree.  The Bachelor of Kinesiology (B.Kin), serves students and the professional community well. Students often complete this degree because they are interested in sport, recreation, fitness, exercise, health and wellness, and/or people with disabilities. The first two years of the B.Kin. may be completed at Cumberland College through a combination of online, televised and face-to-face courses.  Please ensure you see a College Advisor for academic advising to chose the correct courses for your Kinesiology degree.

The faculty of Social Work, as well as Yukon College and regional colleges throughout Saskatchewan offers The Bachelor of Social Work it is a four-year degree programThe BSW is accredited by the Canadian Association for Social Work Education. The curriculum incorporates essential field education components that enable you to develop the skills learned in the classroom through direct experience in Social Work practice, even before you graduate. Please ensure you see a College Advisor for academic advising to chose the correct courses for your Social Work degree.

Notes:

To become a student at Cumberland College you must first apply to the University of Regina. The application deadline is March 15, 2022 (final deadline is August 15, 2022). Apply early to have a better selection of classes!
