Fall 2022 - Campus Health & Safety Update

Cumberland College continues to follow the recommendations of the Government of Saskatchewan with regard to COVID-19 and all other communicable diseases. For more information, please visit the Government of Saskatchewan's Living with COVID website.
Using the knowledge we have gained from the COVID-19 pandemic, and in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety requirements, our safety team has developed a Communicable Disease Prevention Plan (attached) that will guide our efforts for safe and healthy campuses this Fall and beyond.
What does this mean for students and employees?
- The college will continue to follow all provincial health orders and mandates. Currently there are none in place.
- Some of the health and safety measures that were put in place in response to the pandemic, are effective for reducing all illness. Our college remains committed to providing a healthy and safe environment by continuing with enhanced sanitation processes, readily available disinfecting wipes, adequate hand washing facilities and hand sanitizer. Masks are still available at all campus and training locations.
- Students and employees are not obligated to report positive COVID-19 test results to the College, although we do ask that you stay home when you are ill. If you are going to be absent, please make arrangements with your supervisor or instructor.
- Rapid tests are not available at college campuses. For information on where to obtain rapid tests, please see the Government of Saskatchewan’s website.
- Vaccinations can be booked through the online booking system on the Government of Saskatchewan's website. Many pharmacies also offer flu, COVID-19 and other vaccinations.
- The communicable disease plan will be considered in all College activities moving forward. This plan includes guidance on proper hand hygiene, PPE, temporary remote working, food service and more. Please ensure you familiarize yourself with this plan.
Best wishes for a healthy and safe return to campus.
