Entrance Scholarships
Students enrolling in post-secondary training at Cumberland College for the first time are invited to apply for an Entrance Scholarship. We award up to 20 Entrance Scholarships as outlined below:
Cumberland College Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Entrance Scholarships
- up to twenty $2000 scholarships
- open to all students enrolling for the first time in full time Technical, Trades, or University programs at Cumberland College
Alex Prytula Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity University Entrance Scholarships.
- up to five $2000 scholarships
- specific to students of Indigenous ancestry enrolling for the first year of full-time University studies at Cumberland College

1. Cumberland College Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Entrance Scholarships:
High school or ABE graduates enrolling in full-time university or technical programs during the 2022-23 year at Cumberland College are invited to apply for one of up to 20 Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Entrance Scholarships valued at $2000 each.
Application Criteria:
- Must be a high school or ABE graduate from within the Cumberland College region.
- Must be enrolling in a full-time university or technical program offered at Cumberland College during the next academic year. Full-time is defined as 60% of a full course load.
- Selection will be based on the most recent high school marks with a minimum 75% entrance average in five high school credits (two English, one Science, one Social Science, and one Math).
- Marks are not necessarily based on grade twelve if program entrance requirements require less (i.e. grade 10 or 11).
Application Deadline:
- Online application deadline is April 30 of each year.
Application Process:
- Complete the Cumberland College Entrance Scholarship Application Form using the green button below.
- If you have already graduated from high school or ABE, enter your marks from your final transcript (transcripts can be ordered from the Ministry of Education).
- If you are still in high school or ABE, enter your interim marks of the most recent level of high school education. This may be obtained from your counsellor or guidance teacher.
2. Alex Prytula Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity University Entrance Scholarships:
High school or ABE graduates of Aboriginal ancestry enrolling in full-time university studies for the first time during the 2022-23 year at Cumberland College are invited to apply for one of 5 Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarships valued at $2000 each.
Application Criteria:
- Students must be of Indigenous ancestry
- Students must be taking university classes full time at Cumberland College
- Selection will be based on the most recent high school marks with a minimum 75% entrance average in five high school credits (two English, one Science, one Social Science, and one Math).
Application Deadline:
- All documentation must be received by March 24, 2023.

- Complete the Alex Prytula Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity University Entrance Scholarship Application Form using the green button below.
- If you have already graduated from high school or ABE, enter your marks from your final transcript (transcripts can be ordered from the Ministry of Education).
- If you are still in high school or ABE, enter your interim marks of the most recent level of high school education. This may be obtained from your counsellor or guidance teacher.
Additional Information:
- All Entrance Scholarships awarded by Cumberland College are funded by financial contributions from businesses, individual donors, and granting foundations and are matched with funds from the Ministry of Advanced Education.
- Only successful applicants will be notified.
- Successful applicants will be required to provide a photo and a brief summary of their educational goals.
- Scholarship certificates will be awarded at the local high school award ceremonies in the spring.
- Recipients of Entrance awards are also eligible to apply for Cumberland College General Awards. The online application window is open from December 1 to January 31 of each academic year.
