Cumberland College Campuses Closures

March 19, 2020

Cumberland College Campuses Close to Students and the Public

March 19, 2020

Effective Friday, March 20, Cumberland College campuses are closed to students and members of the public.

This comes after the Government of Saskatchewan declared a state of emergency on Wednesday due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Together with the Ministry of Advanced Education and other post-secondary institutions in the province, Cumberland College staff will be working remotely, wherever possible. Staff will continue to be available via phone and e-mail.  Limited key services will be restricted to employees who are providing critical services, such as Technology, Facilities, and Finance, and staff who are needed to support instruction through online and alternative delivery.

“Cumberland College remains committed to keeping our communities healthy, safe, and informed during this time,” said President Dr. Mark Hoddenbagh. “We are taking every precaution to protect the well-being of students, faculty, staff, and partners.”

In-person classes were suspended March 17. Alternate program delivery will begin on Monday, March 23 for as many existing programs as possible. Details for individual programs will be communicated to students directly. Students will be able to contact their local advisor for support.

These actions are intended to limit the number of people at each campus, to help stop the spread of COVID-19, and to protect our campus communities.

This plan is in place through April 3. However, the situation is rapidly evolving, so changes may occur. Click here for the latest information on Cumberland College’s response.

Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
