25K Awarded for Post-Secondary Mental Health

April 20, 2021

Cumberland College is one of 123 institutions across Canada that has been awarded a $25K Bell Let’s Talk Post-Secondary Fund Grant to help improve mental health care, supports and services for our students.  This will enhance and accelerate the development and implementation of mental health and wellness strategies for Cumberland College post-secondary students.

The funds for the first phase is to develop a data collection and research strategy for a system-wide wellness plan that aligns with the National Standard for Mental Health and Well Being for Post-Secondary students.  The next phase of funding is for institutions that have used the Standard to identify gaps or needs in their mental health supports and services to support them in building new initiatives to address them.
