Learn about the registering and choosing classes, finances and ways to help ease your transition to university. Transitions to Employment


Program Start: 30 November -0001 - In Session
Credit Granting Institution: Cumberland College
Length: 12 weeks

Overview:

Are you interested in finding employment?  Would you be interested in a 12-week Employability Skills Training Program?

Instruction will include:

  • Computer Basics
  • Personal Management Skills
  • Communication and Literacy Skills
  • Workplace Essential Skills- Creating a resume and cover letter
  • Work Readiness – how to get and keep a job, interview skills, job search
  • First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, Safe Food Handling,
  • Learn about process to obtain driver’s license

Requirements:

Students accepted into the program must be First Nations or Métis and interested in finding employment. Preference will be given to those who do not have their grade 10 certificate; however all applications will be considered.

Notes:

Work placements with employers that are supported by an employment counselor are an important part of this course.
