Early Childhood Education Level 1

This introductory course provides the minimum training required by Saskatchewan Ministry of Education in order to work as a child daycare worker. The curriculum emphasizes on the content and best practices in three core areas: child guidance, play & exploration and health, safety & nutrition. This recently revised course is based on the Ministry's new Play and Exploration Early Learning Program, the curriculum framework used for all childhood programs in the province.

In addition to the workshops, home study will be required.

The Early Childhood Education Level 1 courses

are now credit courses toward the Early Childhood Education Certificate (Level 2).

Completion of Grade 10 is required for entry into the Level 1 program.

The three courses - Child Guidance (HUMD 183), Health/Safety/Nutrition (ECE 142), and Role of Play (ECE 106) - are now credits toward the Early Childhood Education Certificate.
