Courses available:

Fall Protection Awareness

This awareness course is designed for all industrial workers who work at heights, near fall hazards or use fall protection equipment.  This Fall Arrest course includes the following.

  • assessing hazards 
  • fall arrest systems 
  • types of body harness 
  • lanyards 
  • shock absorbers 
  • inertial reels 
  • ropes 
  • inspection of fall protection equipment. 

Students will spend "hands on" time utilizing fall protection equipment in simulated work environments. Applicable legislation is discussed in class. A manual will be supplied for each student. All students who complete the course successfully will receive a personal wallet size certificate.

The Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 and The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 1996 Section 19(1) An employer shall ensure that a worker is trained in all matters that are necessary to protect the health and safety of the worker. 19(2) The training required by subsection (1) must include: 19(2)(a) procedures to be taken in the event of a fire or emergency.

Power Engineering (Fireman's Level)

This course is intended to assist students to prepare to write the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK) Limited Power Engineering (Fireman’s Certificate) exam.

 

Topics include: low pressure heat boilers, fuel and firing equipment, automatic controls, pumps, piping fittings, valves, steam and hot water heating, ventilation, basic electricity, and the Boiler Pressure Vessel Act and Regulations.

PSTS (Petroleum Safety Training)

Petroleum Safety Training (Enform accredited) is an interactive multi-media program with video, audio and interactive lessons. This safety training program has been designed and produced for all workers in the petroleum industry. It is user friendly and has been specifically designed so learners do not need significant computer skills. Learners can relax and enjoy the training process, as they are easily guided through each lesson.

 

 

Total running time of the program is approximately four hours. Topics include regulations, WHMIS, personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard recognition and control, common workplace hazards and control, oil and gas industry hazards and control, gas hazards and control measures, exploration hazards and control, rig hazards and control, oilfield trucking hazards and control, production and plant hazards and control, work procedures and safety communication.

Red Cross Standard First Aid/C.P.R. Recertification


This program is intended for those who have taken the Red Cross Standard First Aid/C.P.R. combo course within the past three years and need to renew their certification.

 

Level C Standard First Aid/CPR/AED includes:

 

  • Adult/child/baby CPR - one rescuer
  • Adult/child/baby choking
  • Barrier devices/pocket masks
  • AED where legislation permits
  • Adult/child 2-rescuer CPR

 

Please bring your current certification to class.  Red Cross does not allow anyone to recertify if the certificate has expired by even 1 day.

Red Cross Standard First Aid/C.P.R./AED Combo

This comprehensive program includes instruction on the prevention, recognition and treatment of life-threatening emergencies plus certification in CPR as well as an introduction to AED.

 

Level C Standard First Aid/CPR/AED includes:

  • Barrier devices/pocket masks
  • AED where legislation permits
  • Adult/child 2-rescuer CPR

Safe Food Handling Online

Every Food Eating Establishment must have a minimum of one certified food handler working at all times, as required under Section 10 of the Saskatchewan Public Eating Establishment Regulations.

 

The course will cover all aspects of Food Sanitation and results in a national accreditation.

 

This online course can be completed at your own pace. The course consists of modules that must be fully completed followed by a module test. You will have unlimited attempts at passing the module test and must score 100% to proceed to the next module.

 

After completing the course, you will have the option to take the exam immediately or later at a convenient time. When taking the exam you must have valid photo ID and a working Webcam. A final grade of 74% is required to successfully pass the exam and be certified.

SCOT (Saskatchewan Construction Orientation Training)

The Safety Construction Orientation Training (SCOT) program is an interactive, online-training course composed of 13 modules, each focused on a different fundamental aspect of worksite safety.

 

SCOT is convenient, easy-to-use, easy-to-understand, and is interactive and accessible as the program is available on the web.

TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods)

This complete course is designed for supervisors, managers, drivers, handlers and shippers who need to understand TDG regulations. The course fulfills general training estrablished by Transport Canada and teaches the trainee how to be in compliance with regulations and consequently avoid fines for non-compliance.
