Continuing Care Assistant

Overview:

The Continuing Care Assistant program provides knowledge and skill development in helping people to help themselves in their homes and special care facilities. You will receive training in: gerontology, dementia management strategies, applying the philosophy of long term care into home care, special care and community settings, promoting independence in a safe environment, working with people from all cultures, working with individuals with different levels of physical and cognitive impairment, giving personal care, and attending to psychosocial needs.

International students are invited to apply to this program.

Length:  32 weeks        (4 days/week   Tuesday-Friday)

Requirements:

Tuition: $3,700*
International Tuition: $11,200*

Notes:

Accepted applicants may be required to undergo an interview and to provide a criminal record check prior to entering the practicum component to the program. At the discretion of the practicum agency, you may be declined access to a clinical or work placement based on the criminal record check. The cost of a Criminal Record Check is your responsibility. It must be submitted in a separate sealed envelope which includes your name, program and identifies it as a Criminal Record Check.
